Memory Sing is a place where people living with dementia their friends and families can meet, talk and sing a variety of songs they know and love, in a fun and friendly environment.
Practitioner: Cat Attewell Cat is a registered Singing for the Brain leader having completed training with Alzheimer’s Society and is the Community Engagement Officer for Home Instead Swindon.
Cat loves sharing music with people and has previously led singing for the brain sessions with Swindon Carers, and currently leads another dementia-friendly singing group called “Sing Together” with The Pump House Project in Faringdon.
Cat has a passion for sharing joy and connection and says “I’ve been amazed at how people come to life to music. Often those who can’t communicate easily in normal speech find they can sing along to their favourite tunes from yester-year, and that’s a wonderful thing!”
Cat lives in Swindon and for leisure enjoys gardening, crochet and walking her labrador. She’s really looking forward to taking it forward and to many happy days singing together!

Memory Sing is sponsored by Home Instead, who provide bespoke, relationship-led Home Care for those living with Dementia and their carers and often attend for support and advice for visitors.
"I think that the Wyvern running a Memory Café is very good," says David Baddiel, comedian & Alzheimer's Society Ambassador. "When someone has dementia, you’ve got to remember there’s still a real person there, not just a stereotype of someone looking at the wall with a blanket on their knees. There’s a 360 degree person in there and having Memory Café's and not just storing them away somewhere is a very good thing."
